On this visit to India, I didn’t spend very much time in Calcutta. But briefly, Calcutta is a stark example of a city of dichotomies: abject poverty exists in parallel with the lavish opulence of the Tollygunge Club.  Lots of people habitating in one area, making Calcutta one of the most densely-populated cities in the world. But once one looks beyond the congestion, the pollution and the poverty [not necessarily a trivial task], one will see that Calcutta is a vibrant city, chock full of gardens, creative arts, museums; and it is home to the famed director, Satyajit Ray and Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore.
