While in Calcutta, I visited a remote village, Hamiragachi, ~1 hour outside the city. Here, I had the opportunity to observe and assist in a Free Eye Camp, sponsored by Calcutta businessmen. More than 500 villagers were screened for cataracts; some received glasses, while others received cataract surgery. |
